Review: Spare Change by Bette Lee Crosby

Spare ChangeSpare Change by Bette Lee Crosby
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

What were the main themes of the book? This was a coming of age journey for Olivia and Ethan. It is about acceptance, change and just growing up.

What motivates a given character’s actions? Almost all actions seemed justified. Scooter was killed in a fit of rage, but during the time period the book is set that would not of been a plausible defense.

What did the title have to do with the book? It seemed during Ethan’s early life he was treated like spare change. Something that is only wanted/needed when he served a purpose.

Disclosure: I received a review copy of this book from the author.
